- Cost. Marble countertops are definitely not a low-cost option. The slabs come with a hefty price tag. Then there’s the cost of installation as well. Marble isn’t as easy to install on your own if you’re thinking of going with a DIY solution to save up on installation costs. You’ll most likely spend on installation since you want pros to handle it for you, which again adds to your expenses.
- High-maintenance. You’ve got to reseal the material regularly. That’s because marble is semi-porous. If you don’t reseal it, it’ll absorb liquids and stains, which change the color of your marble.
So if you’re under a tight budget, then going for marble countertops might not be the best way to go. But if a limited budget and high-maintenance costs aren’t an issue, then you might want to give marble a try.
