Sometimes, in an attempt to look more beautiful, mistakes can occur. One of these mistakes involves the color of the hair. Thankfully, women can seek hair color correction at their salon. A correction involves a service that is meant to fix the undesirable results of a prior color service. Usually, correction is needed for a color that exudes orange or brassy highlights. It can also be facilitated for at-home color process that resulted in black or green hair, instead of, for instance, a medium brown tone.
Types of Corrections
Some color corrections only involve adding a toner to cut out gold hues while other corrections can be complex, or involve a triple process to lift out a dark hue. When you have a more complicated process done, then both the time and cost both drastically increase.
Can a dark brown color be changed or corrected to a cool blonde look? The answer is “Yes.” Even though you may have been receiving the desired color results from your stylist for years, you may want the correction just to enjoy a change of pace.
How the Process Is Viewed in the Salon
In a salon environment, colorists view a color correction as a process that takes colored hair at least two levels lighter, or takes virgin hair or hair that was previously colored at least 2 levels darker. When the hair is lightened regularly, the hue is actually taken out, not pulled in. Other things are also removed, such as the hair’s protein. As a result, the hair becomes damaged too.
Corrections Can Become Complex
If a color turns out too light or if a client wants their hair darker, the hair needs to be filled. Filling is a process where the pigment is deposited back into the shaft of the hair. Once the hair is filled, it is colored to the desired shade. Because color correction can become involved, again, the cost varies, depending on the correction. The cost will reflect the amount of color that is used, as well as the amount of time spent on the work itself. Contact Fusion Salon for more information about getting your color fixed.
