Wedding Venues- Key Factors to Consider

by | Feb 10, 2015 | Business Service

Most girls have planned their weddings before they have learned to read and write. Love is something we understand is necessary before we understand how to express it. But do you know the best way to plan for your big day? What’s in a location?

What’s in a Location?

Everyone understands that they want a beautiful location, but what makes it the right location? Do you want a sunrise or a sunset? Do you want your sunset to be on a beach or at a park? Do you want to view the sunset standing up or sitting down? Do you want to be standing up or sitting down inside or outside? These may all seem to be obvious questions. What isn’t always as obvious is the reason the questions must be asked.

Who Needs to be Considered?

Of course guests must be considered in picking a venue. If you choose a steep mountainside as your venue, Aunt Edna’s bad hip may not be hiking it up to the wedding. Little Timmy may not be able to bear your ring if you are in the middle of the heavily pollinated daisy gardens. Though Aunt Edna and little Timmy may be important characters in the ceremony, considering the people in the wedding party and the close audience may not be taking enough precautions! If you are having food service, caterers must be able to set up properly, maintain the proper quantities and service, and break down the equipment in a timely manner, especially if they are being paid by the hour! The same goes for music and any entertainment. If your magician is going to make something disappear, you don’t want it to be your guests! Decide whether or not you would like to choose from a nice park, a beach setting, or a camp ground with amenities.

 What Events are Taking Place?

Karaoke might be super fun on the beach, but it might also be super difficult to successfully pull off. Are you planning on having an open bar, or having wine service? Will you be having a treasure hunt for the children in shrubbery, or will you be taking photos on the beach in water up to your ankles? Do you want to do it all on a boat? Would you like to take a boat to your reception or your destination?

Weddings and amenities come in all shapes and sizes, however most everyone wants their own to be unique and special to them. Remember that it’s not just what type you choose, it’s who’s attending and what is happening that determines the perfect venue.
