Fall weather is here again. You’ll want to make sure you’re taking proper care of your eyes too.

Wear eye protection

If you’re going outdoors, be sure not to head out without the proper eye protection. Pluck your sunnies out of its case and wear them to protect your eyes against changes in the season, says Best Health Mag.

Keep your windows closed

Driving out? Fall could mean the onset of a number of your allergies. If you’re allergic to pollen dust or mold, you might find yourself at the mercy of your allergies—with puffy eyes and nose. Spare yourself the trouble and stress by driving outside with your windows closed. You’ll want to keep your sunnies on too and to make sure you take in your anti-allergy meds every day at the start of the season.

Wash your hands

You can end up with an eye infection if you rub your eyes while there’s dirt on your hands. You can easily prevent that from happening, though, simply by regularly washing your hands. That way, you can prevent the spread of infection.

Go for regular screenings

Pay regular visits to your eye doctor. Your doctor can monitor your health and keep a lookout for any signs or symptoms of infections and eye problems. By seeing your doctor on a regular basis, you can keep your eyes in the peak of health.

Don’t put it off

In case you find your eyes incredibly itchy and your eye drops are doing nothing to remedy the situation, don’t hesitate to go to your eye doctor. Early consultations can resolve problems and issues that much sooner. Instead of rubbing at your eyes and increasing the risk of infection from developing or spreading, go to your doctor to determine what’s wrong.
