Adding a beautiful, custom designed swimming pool and outdoor living space is an exceptional way to increase the enjoyment of your home and yard. In making the choice to use marble pavers and marble pool coping you are adding to the value of your property, creating a pool deck and outdoor living space which will stand the test of time.

There is no doubt that contractors and designers prefer the use of natural stone over other options when designing and constructing custom pools and hardscape. They know the value, the durability, and the beauty of these building materials will never go out of style.

The Difference between Pavers and Marble Pool Coping

Pavers and marble pool coping are both made of marble and are both natural stone, but they are different in their design and use. Pavers are identical on all sides, designed to provide a flat surface for your pool deck, patio, walkways and even for driveways or other outdoor living spaces.

Marble pool coping is the specialized paver with a rounded or bullnosed edge on one side. This rounded edge faces into the pool, providing a safe and gentle ledge all the way around the pool’s sides. The rounded edge makes it comfortable to rest on the side or get out of the pool without having to deal with sharp paver edges.

You will also find marble pool coping used on steps into the pool or on steps to different levels of the pool. It is also used around whirlpools and custom built hot tubs as well as for custom designed sauna benches.

Color Options

There are at least two different options possible when choosing marble pavers and coping for your pool. One option is to use the same color of paver and pool coping, giving a natural flow to the outdoor living space.

The other choice is to use a different color of marble pool coping with a paver, giving the look of a border around the water. This can also be duplicated on the stairs and levels of the outdoor living space, giving additional emphasis to the architectural design elements.

Both options can be completed with new building or with renovations. For renovations, special remodeling marble pool coping can be selected to install over your existing pool deck. This reduces the cost of the renovation as there is no need to remove the old material.
