Tips To Help With Weight Loss After Pregnancy

by | Feb 15, 2017 | Weight Loss

You’ve just got a brand new baby in the house, and you’ve got seemingly endless things to consider. For example, you may worry about what to do when she cries, when to feed her, how to feed her, and also how to lose to extra pounds you gained when you were pregnant. If you were an average size before you got pregnant and gained the recommended 25 to 35 pounds, it probably won’t take long to shed them and get back to a regular size as long as you eat right and exercise.

However, if you were overweight before you got pregnant and still put on more weight, it can take up to a year or longer. While you may think that you’re stuck with this new body, you don’t have to be. Weight loss after pregnancy may not be easy, but it is possible.

Be Patient/Love Yourself

The goal here is to gradually get back to your before-baby size. It doesn’t mean that you should try crazy pills and other notions. These can harm you and your new baby if you breastfeed. Likewise, they may not be safe and may lead to yo-yo dieting in the future.

Instead, you should love your body the way it is, finding at least one good thing about it daily. You can lift your new son or daughter with your arms and walk to them when they cry.

You should focus on taking care of yourself, as well as your baby. That may mean sleeping instead of doing another round on the treadmill. Sleep is just as important as exercise and diet.

Other Options

If you’ve been trying for weight loss after pregnancy without success, you may need medical help, such as prescription drugs, fat-burning injections or a nutritionist’s advice.
