Create a Great Party Atmosphere with Party Lighting Hire

by | Jul 21, 2015 | Event Planning

The process of planning a party can be somewhat time consuming, particularly if you are new to the world of organising events. This is where a party planner or event hire specialist will come in handy. Someone who is skilled at planning parties and renting out equipment will maintain connections with some of the best people in the field, enabling you to turn your vision into reality with minimal effort on your part. Once you have decided on a location, venue type, theme and audio equipment, focus on the lighting.

Lasers and Projectors

To really give your event the feel of a nightclub or disco, consider hiring lasers and projectors. Mood inciting lighting of this kind will really get your guests in the mood for a party. Prices will vary, depending on how many lights are required and whether you require them for the flooring, too. A relatively new aspect of disco lighting, lasers and projectors emit light from a single source. The light can be rotated in any direction and a mirror will usually be fixed to the lighting equipment, so that light can be reflected around the room.

Strobe Lighting

An alternative to lasers and projectors is strobe lighting. Also known as a stroboscopic lamp, strobe lighting pulsates quickly and over the years it has fast become a preferred choice for nightclubs. The reason for this is because the pulsating light gives party-goers the impression that something exciting is happening, which ultimately gets them in the mood for a good time. Something to consider if you plan on getting strobe lighting for your next event is whether any of your guests have experienced seizures in the past, because if so they may have a convulsive attack when exposed to the flashing lights.

LED Screens

There are a few reasons why you might want to introduce LED screens for your next event – to present guests with some kind of presentation during a discussion or conference, to add colour and light to the setting, or to project a documentary or movie to visitors. Flat enough to hang on the wall of your function venue, an LED screen can usually be controlled with the touch of a button. They are often well-designed, but be sure to do your research before hiring a piece of equipment like this.
